Hannah Dixie

Hannah came to Uganda thanks to a Kaufman Fellowship from Harvard Law School, from where she graduated in 2014 with an LL.M specialising in International Human Rights. Before attending Harvard, Hannah gained a First Class degree in Law from the University of Cambridge in the UK. Hannah’s particular field of interest within human rights is socio-economic rights, notably education and specifically on the African continent. At Cambridge, Hannah was elected as President of the International Development Society and Chair of the Overseas Education Fund while at Harvard she was a project leader for Advocates for Human Rights and for the Law and International Development Society. Her experience of working within the socio-economic rights sphere prior to arriving in Uganda was from South Africa, having spent time working with the Legal Resources Centre and the Equal Education Law Centre on such issues. She joined ISER in January 2015 to work on the privatisation project.
