Concluding Observations from the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights for Uganda

The concluding Observations followed Uganda’s initial review by the Committee on 10 and 11 June, 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland, 28 years since Uganda ratified the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.


Joint Statement on World Bank Support for Privatisation in Education

On 13th May 2015, over 100 civil society organisations signed a statement expressing concern over the World Bank’s support for low-fee, for-profit private education as a means to alleviate poverty in Kenya and Uganda.

Appointment as an Expert Member of the Working Group on Economic, Social And Cultural Rights in Africa

ISER Executive Director- Ms. Salima Namusobya, was appointed as an expert member of the  Working Group on Economic, Social And Cultural Rights in Africa at the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (the Commission), meeting at its 17th Extraordinary Session held from 19 to 28 February 2015 in Banjul, The Gambia.
